Are black peppers and sour creme authentic Mexican?
Posted by: admin / Category: Authentic Mexican Foods
I went to a restaurant called chi-chi's and they put these items on their Mexican food. Is this real authentic Mexican dressing ingredients?
Black olives, yes that's it.
Olives…nope..not at all.
and about the sour cream we call it Crema (it can be media crema, doble crema..according to the amount of fat on it).
Real authentic mexican dressings id say pico de gallo, chiles en vinagre, etc..
Oh and im from Cuernavaca!

I'm not familier with "black peppers" in fact I don't know that such a thing exists- are you thinking of olives? however… the sour creme- is not. They use "creama" (creme) but it doesn't look or taste like sour creme- Its really runny- neither sweet nor savory and they put it on everything. veggies, meat, in tacos, in soup… everything.

No black olives are not authentic, green olives are though. Sour cream is actually crema and it tastes a lot like sourcream mixed with milk…runny and flavorless. My husband is from mexico and only eats crema with fruit. Kind of like in the US but we eat it with whipped cream
