I’m trying to track down a more common name for a bread a friend wants so I could surprise him- it could be from Guatamala or Mexico -he spent years in both. He uses lots of slang, so it is likely a very local name. Here is the quote:
"moist sort of bread traditionally served at night (though it is just as good at any time of the day), Pan de Noche – or simply, Panocha. Often used to make sausage sandwhiches"
Pan de Campo or Panocha Bread, a trail bread

My neighbor gave me a bag of tamales that are in husks. She doesn’t speak English and I don’t know how to cook them.
Should I steam them?
Do they need any sauce on them?
If they’re raw, yes, you have to steam them, but I doubt that she gave you raw tamales. To reheat them, you can steam them again (best choice), or put them in the oven, or in a fry pan, always in their husks.

i live with my mexican boyfriend and i am going 2 have his child. i need 2 know how 2 cook mexican food. we r going 2 be living on our own soon, away from his mom. she will not be there 2 help me out. i can not speak spanish at all.
Have on hand @ all times in the pantry: corn tortillas, green tomatillos, white onions, paprika, vegetable oil, rice, garlic, cilantro, roasts or steaks in the freezer to season up and place in the oven, Cornish hens, cans of hominy, cans of pinto beans, or if u wanna make them fresh bags of pintos, Serrano and guadilallio peppers, whole chickens for soup, limes, radishes, green onions, tomatoes, and then just ask him what he likes by pointing, or eye fully watching his mom and watching how she makes things so that when u guys get your own place you know how to make what he was raised on. Great luck.

I cooked chicken and bean buritto. I would like to stew it with tomato sauce. I have a tomato n basil pasta sauce and mexican tomato salsa. Which can be good for wet-britto cooking?
First you should either fry the burrito or grill on a griddle then pour the sauce over(don not stew it) Even chili sauce or enchilada sauce would be better than that. Maybe chili-o or some other brand, just make the sauce and pour over it, that is what I use on my tamales.
Wet Burrito 1 pound ground beef 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 clove garlic, minced 1/2 teaspoon cumin 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon pepper 1 (4.5 ounce) can diced green chile peppers 1 (16 ounce) can refried beans 1 (15 ounce) can chili without beans 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup 1 (10 ounce) can enchilada sauce 6 (12 inch) flour tortillas, warmed 2 cups shredded lettuce 1 cup chopped tomatoes 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese 1/2 cup chopped green onions
DIRECTIONS Crumble ground beef into a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir until evenly browned. Add onion, and cook until translucent. Drain grease, and season with garlic, cumin, salt and pepper. Stir in the green chilies and refried beans until well blended. Turn off heat, but keep warm. In a saucepan, combine the chili without beans, tomato soup and enchilada sauce. Mix well, and cook over medium heat until heated through. Turn off heat and keep warm. Place a warmed tortilla on a plate, and spoon a generous 1/2 cup of the ground beef mixture onto the center. Top with lettuce and tomato to your liking. Roll up tortilla over the filling. Spoon a generous amount of the sauce over the top, and sprinkle with cheese and green onions. Heat in the microwave for 30 seconds, or until cheese is melted. Repeat with remaining tortillas.

is milk used extensively in mexican cooking?
A lot of dishes use cheese, which can be made from cow's milk, or goat's milk. But that's usually as a topping, not as a main ingredient.
