I’m going out for mexican food. What is something healthy I can order?

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Healthy Mexican Food

I LOVE mexican food! So I’m going out to a Mexican restraunt today and I’m not quite sure what to order to stay healhy. I usually skip the chips, and order a taco salad with chicken instead of beef, no sour cream, guacamole, or cheese and then I don’t eat the shell.

I feel like its kind of a waste of money because I hardly eat any of eat. Any healthier alternitives? I’m kinda hesitant to order any fajtias or chicken tacos because I know tortillas run high in calories and carbs. So any tips would help!

Thanks!

How about fajitas without the tortillas? Ask if they cook the beans in lard.

Ask for Caldo Tlalpeño. It is chiken soup with chipotle, also some avocado and tortilla chips. Take 2 peptobismol spoons and enjoy it.

When doing it up Mexican, Indian and the likes, forget about healthy and light. You can expect high sodium, high fat, high calories. Enjoy eating out, but limit your portion size and take the leftovers home, split into portion sizes and freeze for another time. Or choose one meal at the restaurant and split it with family or friends.
