Is authentic or non authentic mexican food healthiest?
Posted by: admin / Category: Healthy Mexican Food
For example Authentic versus Chipotle or Baja Fresh etc (no fastfood; taco bell)
Authentic is healthier. Americanized Mexican cuisine uses much more cheese, sour cream and meat.
I’ve only spent several weeks at a time in Mexico, but the food I ate there was much lighter, with much more vegetables than you would get in a restaurant like Chipotle.

It depends on the quality of ingredients rather than the authenticity (organic versus full of additives) and the way it was processed. In general all processed foods are not healthy.

How many overweight Mexicans you see?
Nothing racial, just an observation.

The authentic is much healthier.. Like if u go 2 Mexico there’s much more skinnier people than the mexicans here in U.S.A. because here in the states we have more chances of eating junk food and etc.

Of course authentic mexican food is healthier.
To that one who said that many mexicans are overweighted, thats true, but that doesnt mean they ate authentic healthy mexican food , right? And you are going to tell me there are no overweighted americans?
Because Mexico is invaded of McDonalds and BK, KFC, and is the first Coke consumer… and all that stuff is american isnt it?
We do eat tortillas but each tortilla has less fat than two or three french fries.
So then again, authentican mexican food like chiles rellenos, mole, barbacoa, pozole, ceviche, etc is healthy compared to any non authentic mexican food, or any kind of fast food.
