Does any one have any good appetizer recipes?

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Mexican Appetizers

In August my mom, dad, and I have to come up with a meal for dinner when we are at Mustang Island visting our family. My mom wants to make this soup recipe we got from http://allrecipes.com and I do not like it. I came up an idea for appetizers. I want to help in the cooking and have something I like as well. My family has Mexican food a lot since they live near Mexico. I was hoping for appetizer recipes that are not Mexican. The only recipes I have are a meatball one, artichoke dip, and, these really good Shish kebabs my dad makes using steak. If you can I need just a few more recipes.
Nobody. That is a wonderful idea. As I am writing I am looking on Kraftfoods.
gubww thanks for the recipe. I will have to tell my mother about it. Mother makes those with a different recipe.

THis is kinda messy, but really good My sister brought these to a christmas dinner.

About 2 packages of little smokies, 1 package of frozen meatballs, barbecue sauce & a jar of apricot preserves. dump it all into a crockpot and let it go. I think she cooked it on low all day long. They were a big hit at christmas dinner.

I like this one…take a half slice of bacon and roll it up with a chunk of pineapple and water chestnut inside. Bake on broiler pan @ 400 for 20 min or til the bacon is cooked. Serve alone or with spicy mustard. Yummy!
Also…make a spinach dip in a bread bowl. You should find the recipe on the back of dry veggie soup mix. One package soup mix, 1 cup mayo, 1 container (8oz) sour cream, 1 can (4 oz) water chestnuts (chopped), one package frozen spinach (defrost, rinse, and squeeze as much moisture out as possible…use your hands for this part!). Mix well…serve in hollowed out round rye, marble rye or pumpernickel bread. Just cut into it as tho you were carving a pumpkin. Cut up the bread you remove into bite-sized pieces. Hope this helps!

Avocado and prawns with Delia Smith's yogurt seafood dressing (which is nicer than standard Marie Rose) is good. You'll find a link to it, and one or two other ideas, in the recipes on our family web site, which is here:

    Hope this helps!

    1. in a pot, slow cook those little cocktail weenies, bbq sauce, and whiskey (proportion to taste)–cook on low temp for a long time–I personally think they're yucky, but we do some catering and people usually love them.

    2. crab points–you'll need a package of english muffins, a can of lump crab meat, Kraft Old English Cheese, a stick of butter, and garlic powder. Cream together the cheese and softened butter, then gently fold in the crab (drained and checked for shells), spread on separated english muffins and sprinkle with the garlic powder. Broil until golden (just a few minutes) then cut into 4's (points). People go crazy over this recipe. We trypically keep one batch in the freezer at all times in case of company. You can make ahead and freeze (this is actually best), then pop into the broiler when you're ready for a treat!
