Does anyone know of a good dip recipe/and dessert?
Posted by: admin / Category: Mexican Appetizers
I know there have been tons of these questions…I apologize. I’ve not been able to find what I’m looking for…Anywhooo….I want to make some kind of mexican dish (appetizer) for the SuperBowl. I was thinking of something like a dip with hamburger meat and cheese, sour cream , etc? As an added bonus….could you tell me a good dessert to serve as well (something easy to hold while watching the game) Thanks so much for your time.
Try a Taco Dip. Here is a good recipe.
1 pound ground beef
1 (16 ounce) can refried beans
1/2 cup hot taco sauce
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
1/4 cup black olives, sliced
1/4 cup jalapeno pepper rings
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large skillet, brown ground beef and drain. Add refried beans, spicy taco sauce, chili powder and cumin. Spread this mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread sour cream over meat mixture. Layer onions, tomatoes, olives, and hot pepper cheese over the sour cream. Top with the cheese.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes.

Dessert – try Cheesecake Brownies. These are simple and sooo good.
1 (19.8 ounce) package brownie mix
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 egg
1/3 cup white sugar
Prepare the brownie mix as directed by manufacturer. Preheat oven to temperature indicated on box. Grease a 9×13 inch pan.
Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan. Using an electric mixer, beat together the cream cheese, egg and sugar until smooth. Dollop the cream cheese mixture on top of the brownie batter. Swirl together using a knife or skewer.
Bake according to manufacturer’s instructions. Brownies will be done when a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in the pan, then cut into bars and serve.

1 (12-ounce) container frozen whipped topping thawed, or equal amount sweetened whipped cream
Line the bottom of a 13 by 9 by 2-inch dish with 1 bag of cookies and layer bananas on top.
In a bowl, combine the milk and pudding mix and blend well using a handheld electric mixer. Using another bowl, combine the cream cheese and condensed milk together and mix until smooth. CON QUESO DIP
2 8-oz pkg cream cheese, softened
8 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
2-3 cans Rotel tomatoes (I mix spicy & mild)
Heat all together until smooth & blended. Serve with tortilla chips (my family prefers this to the ones with the meat – too greasy:)
These are absolutely DECADENT, yet easy cookie bars:
HELLO DOLLY
1/2 c. butter
1-1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs
1 can Eagle Brand sweetened, condensed milk
1 6-oz pkg chocolate chips
1/2 c. coconut
1 c. chopped nuts
Melt butter in 9×13" pan. Remove from heat and sprinkle crumbs evenly over butter. Spread milk evenly over crumbs. Sprinkle with chips, coconut & nuts and press down gently. Bake at 350 for 25 min, or until light golden brown. Cool and cut into bars

I make this dip all the time. Use a glass pie plate. Spread a bar of cream cheese evenly on the bottom then spread a can of hormel no bean chilli on top then cover the top in nacho shredded cheese. Put in the oven until you start to smell it, about 20 minutes. Then serve with tostitos!!
For a dessert you can make a fruit salsa. cut up apples, kiwi and any other season fruits real fine then mix together with a 1/4 cup of sugar then serve with graham crackers.

Sorry, but I don’t know any recipes with the ingredients you gave.
Dip: I pretty much make the best guacamole around.
4 avacados (ripened)
3/4 c. diced red onion (roughly)
1 c. diced red tomatoes (roughly)
juice from one lime
1 1/2 tbs. salt (roughly)
3/4 tbs pepper (roughly)
I never measure so hopefully this comes out right. Just taste it often to see what it needs and use as many avocados as needed because 4 might not be enough
p.s. its always better to have extra of all ingredients for this stuff
Dessert: churros (these take 20 min. tops!)
pillsbury breadsticks, butter, cinnamon, sugar
get pillsbury breadstick dough ( there are 12 in each)
seperate the strips of dough, dip into one cup of melted butter ( do not heavily coat) and then dip into a cup of a cinnamon/sugar mixture (you may need more) until fully coated. Twist them and then bake them on a cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 12 minutes (you might want to use parchment paper). They taste great!!
ps. don’t use as much cinnamon as you do sugar! use like half or quarter of the amount

This is really awesome. I made it for Thanksgiving, new Year’s and I’m making it Sunday too. I add more jalapeno’s and serve it with tortilla chips.
Jalapeño Popper Dip
2- 8 ounce packages cream cheese, room temp
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup shredded Mexican blend cheese
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1- 4 ounce can chopped green chilies
1- 4 ounce can sliced jalapeños- double if you like heat
1 cup panko bread crumbs
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1/2 stick butter, melted
In a food processor add the first 6 ingredients and process until smooth. You do not need to drain either can of peppers. Spread the dip into a greased 2 quart casserole. In a bowl mix bread crumbs and the other 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese. Pour melted butter over top crumb mixture and mix well. Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over the dip and bake in a 375° oven for about 20 minutes. You want the top to get browned and the dip to be heated through and bubble gently on the edges. Do not over heat this dish or the mayonnaise with separate and you will have a grease puddle in your dip. Serve with Buttery crackers or a sliced French baguette. Serves 8-10.

Easy to hold too. Serve with a chocolate dipping sauce or something like that.
Simple to make, awesome flavor. Blueberries and cream cheese in an egg rolls wrapper, with powdered sugar on top. This turned out so well that I am posting it to make again later. I used frozen blueberries, but I’m sure fresh would work as well, or perhaps some other fruit, or a small amount of canned pie filling. This is easy to put together, the instructions are long because I tried to explain how to wrap an egg roll.
8 egg roll wraps
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
40 blueberries (about 2/3 cup, depending on size)
oil (for frying)
Directions
Cream the cream cheese with the sugar and vanilla. This works best if the cream cheese is softened, but the mixture will need to be chilled before using as a filling.
Before you begin preparing your rolls, turn the heat on the oil to 350* F. I use a fry pot with a temperature gauge that holds the temp of the oil.
Place an egg roll wrapper on the counter so you are looking at a diamond. Place 1/8 of the chilled filling in a rectangle between the two side corners, leaving enough space for the corners to be folded over. (I hope that makes sense, see the photos if it doesn’t.) Place 4-5 blueberries on top of the cream cheese mixture.
Fold up the bottom corner of the wrapper, over the filling. Fold the two side corners over the filling as well. Roll away from you, and moisten the top corner to seal. (I dab my finger in a cup of water, and touch the top corner before I begin rolling.).
Fry 3-4 at a time, allowing the oil to return to temperature between batches. Fry for 1 minute on the first side, flip and fry for 30 seconds more, until barely golden. The cream cheese filling will become liquid of you leave it in too long. Immediately dust with powdered sugar, and allow to rest 5-10 minutes before serving.
