What is the white salsa dip at most Mexican restaurants???

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Mexican Dip

I am dying to find out how to make this dip. It is kind of spicy after awhile, it isn't really thick or chunky. It is soooo good.

I just want to atleast know what it's called or how to make it!!!
There is no tomatos in it and it's not really cheesy…It's white.

White Salsa

1 C. sour cream
1 C. mayonnaise
3 limes, juiced
4 cloves garlic, crushed
1 1/2 C. finely chopped cilantro
6 oz. can black olives, pitted, drained and chopped
1 1/2 C. green onions, finely chopped
5 tsp. hot pepper sauce
Pepper to taste

Directions
In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise and sour cream, mixing well. Add lime juice, garlic, cilantro, black olives, scallions, hot pepper sauce, salt and pepper. Taste and adjust seasonings for personal preference. Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to blend. Serve with tortilla chips.

just leave the olives out if you want to.

Eeeeww. The main ingredient is mayonnaise, with varying amounts of sour cream and other ingredients added. Disgusting. (If you didn't believe me look at mebepat's recipe.)

there is an alternate recipie too which is:

1 cup miracle whip (mayo doesn’t do right in this one)
    1 cup sour cream
1/2 pack of dry powder ranch mix
1/3 cup of milk (add more for thinner)

Mix and serve chilled… I make my own chips by heating a fryer to 375 and just breaking corn tortillas (flour will work as well if you prefer).

This is also a really good addition to rice dishes such as Arroz con Pollo, or i have used it as a topper for enchiladas.

    Enjoy…
