Or you could buy Microdin (a solution to disinfect) and follow the instructions. But always the best is to boil the water 15 minutes. If you are too afraid buy bottled water. I am Mexican, born in Mexico, living in Mexico and that is the water I drink. But yes, most people here prefer to boil it (mainly cultural reasons) or drink bottled water. But you won't get sick for showering or brushin teeth. The problem when you eat lettuce in the street or a not to heath concerned place, it's not the water, but that the lettuce itself hasn't been properly washed.
