How come people seem to think Taco Bell is mexican food for real?

I’ve been to that restaurant… and I can assure you , as many people can, that it’s not really mexican food at all… just a cheap copy of some dishes. then why do people assume that’s the way mexican food is? lol, maybe that’s why many don’t like it… taco bell. what do you guys think?

the white people think that it’s mexican food because advertising has said that it is. they haven’t had the chance to try real authentic mexican food. Taco Bell is also mainly tex-mex.

my friendwas a manager there, and the meat they use for their tacos and burritos, comes in this big box that says "taco filler"!!!
its not even meat! its filler! gross!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i agree. its just an americanized version, which is sooo far off base. if you go into an authentic mexicano restaurant and ask for almost anything on a taco bell menu, you woudnt even think they gave you the right order, b/c its so different. americans need to become more cultured.

typical american will take the word taco as mexican…. so anything taco as to be mexican. just like the teriyaki joints. thats nothing close to japanese food. but they think it is… so who knows what they are smoking but i want some. jk .. not really.

For some areas of the country, Taco Bell is the only thing remotely close to Mexican food.
I prefer going to those little taco shops for fish tacos or machaca burritos. mmm

i like taco bell and yeah u have something right but keep in mind that it is made as a mexican fast food place that’s why it’ll never be like REAL mexican. just like how many people thing that hamburgers and hotdogs are all what american food is.

Ha ha, that’s because many towns don’t have real Mexican food. I live 45 minutes from the Mexican border, so I know real Mexican food. I must admit though, I still like Taco Bell…but not because its authentic Mexican food!
